Tigo was founded in 1994 as the first network Tanzania mobile phone. It is a company with great creativity in communications which provides services aimed at transforming the digital lives of Tanzanians. It offers a range of services from service of voice, SMS, high-speed Internet and financial services and networks cellphones, Tigo has introduced innovations such as Facebook Swahili, Nursery of Tigo Money for phone users Android & iOS, Tigo Music (Deezer) and first aid in East Africa send money through mobile phones abroad with the ability to change the currency of the country concerned.

 

Tigo Internet 4G and 3G offer the best service to its customers in all regions nationwide. Between 2013 and 2014 alone the company launched more new locations 500 a network of Tigo and making it more than six 2000 network and plans to increase its investment doubled by 2017 in terms of access to the network and enhance the ability to access network for quite remoteness rural areas. Despite having more than 9 million registered customers, Tigo with over 300,000 Tanzanians including network service representatives to customers, merchants of currency on cellphones, sales agents and distributors.
