CENSUS UPDATES: Guidelines for the Census Job Applicants

It is 4 days since the National Bureau of Statistics announces temporary Census employment. 119,468 people have already applied for these jobs where 58,916 applicants are those who are unemployed equivalent to 49.3%

The report is issued by the National Bureau of Statistics who are preparing for the census exercise to be held in August 2022.

On May 05, 2022, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania officially announced the approval of applications for temporary jobs by clerks and supervisors of the Population and Housing Census to be held on August 23, 2022 through the Electronic Application System. The application process is progressing well across the country and as of May 9, 2022 at 7pm, we have received a total of 119,468 applicants.

Among the 119,468 applicants, 46,159 applicants are employees from the public and private sectors; 14,393 applicants are self-employed and 58,916 applicants are unemployed.

Dear Journalists,

Some of the challenges that applicants have faced include;

(a). Applicants do not fill in the correct information such as email and telephone numbers and thus fail to receive the password and other important information to enable the applicant to continue to complete his / her application;

(b). Applicants forget the username and password thus failing to update and send Form no. 1 approved by the employer for employed by local government officials;

(c). Applicants not having certain information such as National Identification Number (NIDA);

(d). Applicants do not have the necessary attached documents such as Birth Certificate; and

(e). Applicants may be in areas with poor internet access and may have difficulty submitting and updating applications.

Dear Journalists,

For all applicants, you should be careful when logging in and reading accordingly before you start filling out Form No.1 and make sure you follow the following instructions once again;

Fill in your information correctly to eliminate the inconvenience of frequently updating information;
Fill in the phone number and email address you are currently using to receive your account login information to complete your job application;
When you print out Census Application Form No.1 make sure you sign it to the parties and return it to the system as soon as possible;
Prepare important attachments such as Form Four certificate, birth certificate and photograph (passport size); and
Prepare a National Identification Number (NIDA) so that when filling out the form you do not get stuck;
Make sure you go through the answers to all the frequently asked questions that have been posted on the application system to make it easier for you to get quick answers to the questions that have been asked;
Regarding attachments, for all Tanzanians who do not have birth certificates Affidavity can be used as an alternative to such certificates.
