Overview
Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) is 1500 bed capacity Hospital located in Dar-es-Salaam-Tanzania. It is the apex referral and National hospital for Tanzania and the only Haemophilia Treatment centre for Tanzania which attends all patients with haematological conditions including Haemophilia and Sickle cell disease referred from all over the country. MNH aims to achieve the highest standard of care for people living with Haemophilia and other bleeding disorders in Tanzania.
In order to achieve its objective the Hospital is looking for a competent and experienced person to fill the position below for 2 years contract (renewable on mutual agreement)
SYSTEM ANALYST – (1 POST)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot core business applications, including application servers, associated hardware, endpoints and databases,
- Meet and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to establish project scope, systems goals and requirements,
- Develop, analyze, prioritize and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams and flowcharts for developers and testers to follow,
- Translate highly technical specifications into clear non-technical requirements
- Manage the set-up and configuration of systems,
- Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process,
- Provide documentation of all processes and training as needed,
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures, monitor systems health, gather system statistics and troubleshoot reported errors and alarms,
- Perform design, implementation and upgrades of information systems to meet the business and user needs,
- Implement best practices for scalability, supportability, ease of maintenance and system performance.
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in health information technologies and system analysis. Applicants demonstrating to have the following knowledge and skills shall have added advantages;
- Strong computer, hard ware, software and analytical skills
- Proven ability to assess business needs and translate them into relevant solutions
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices associated with database maintenance and administration
- Experience installing, configuring, documenting, testing, training and implementing new applications and systems.
- Working knowledge of a wide variety of programming languages
CIVIL ENGINEER – (1 POST)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in day to day supervision of Works in Hospital Projects
- To carry out specified routine technical tasks
- Assist in performing duties related to the profession
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering and must be registered with Engineering Registration Board(ERB)with minimum of 2 years experience.
QUANTITY SURVEYOR -(1 POST)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in establishment and control of projects’ cost estimates and quantities
- Assist in preparation or review of projects’ Bills of Quantities
- Assist in ascertaining projects materials
- Assist in initial and preliminary budgeting and cost planning of projects
- Advice on cost effectiveness of design and construction methodology
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Building Economics/Quantity Surveying or related field and must be Registered with Architecture and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB) with Minimum of 2 years experience.
CLERK OF WORKS – (2 POSTS)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To observe quality of construction in accordance with the contract and assist in preparation of progress reports.
- Consider and evaluate Contractor’s suggestions and recommendations, discuss with the Project Supervisor and help in making decisions where appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of construction works at the construction site in an orderly manner in accordance with procedures.
- Review and verify application for payments submitted by the Contractor and submit recommendations on the way forward
- Assist in reviewing the list of items to be completed or corrected which are Submitted by the contractor for issuance of a Certificate of Substantial Completion.
- Provide assistance in final inspection of the work and in reviewing the record documents to be furnished by the contractor upon completion of the work
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Architecture and must be
- Registered with Architecture and Quantity Surveyors
- Registration Board (AQRB) with Minimum of 2 years of working experience
SYSTEM DEVELOPER – (4 POSTS)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively participate in project scoping, design, development and testing
- Studying organizing requirements, conferring with users; studying current HMIS flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas.
- Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
- Review and debug code developed internally and by external software vendors
- Perform validation and verification testing of the developed software
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to fix and improve products
- Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest
- technologies
- Support the analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development and proposed solutions to determine foot for purpose.
- Document and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- To perform any other related duties as may be assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Holder of Bachelor degree in Software engineering or Computer Science or Information technology or its related field. Applicants demonstrating to have the following knowledge and skills shall have added advantages;
- Knowledge of trending Health information Systems and Technologies in the market
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in software development
- Familiarity with Agile’s Scrum development methodologies
- Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g Java, C#, PhP, Python, C++ and the J2EE platform
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases (eg PostgreSQL, MySQL and NoSQL database (e.g MongoDB)
- Familiarity with various operating system (Android, Linux, Mac OS, Windows).
- in-depth knowledge of mobile frameworks at the OS level (iOS, Android & windows)
- Strong experience with REST API and web services
- Problem-solving and follow-through; pragmatic and thorough
