The National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has announced the results of the 2021 Primary School Leaving Examination (Grade Seven Results in 2021 … Here is a list of the 10 best schools nationally and 10 that have significantly increased national performance for three consecutive years.

While the results of the seventh grade announced today were received with mixed feelings, Graiyaki Primary School in Mara region led the country in the results with Kagera Region leading the list of most schools in the top 10 schools nationally.

The results of the Examinations held in September this year were announced today October 30, 2021 by the Tanzania Examinations Council (Necta) where overall performance has increased by 6.6 percent within one year.

907,820 candidates out of 1,107,460 who took the exam have passed equivalent to 81.97 percent which is an increase of 74,130 students compared to last year.

  • Necta Executive Secretary, Dr. Charles Msonde announcing the results named Graiyaki which had 50 candidates to take first place nationally followed by St Peter Claver of Kagera region in second place.
  • Third place went to Rocken Hill Primary School in Sinyanga region,
  • Kemebos of Kagera held fourth place while
  • Bishop Caeser of Kagera also took fifth place.
  • Kwema Modern Primary School with 44 candidates of Shinyanga is in sixth place,
  • St Magret (Arusha) is in seventh place,
  • Waja Springs (Geita) is in eighth place and
  • Kadama of Geita is in ninth place.
  • The top 10 is closed by Chalinze Modern Islamic Primary School in the Coast region.

As a result, Kagera region has enrolled three (3) schools followed by Shinyanga and Geita which has enrolled two schools each while the remaining regions enroll one school each. The list is also managed by schools from the Lake Region where eight of the region has entered.

Despite fierce competition for the gold medal, Graiyaki has managed to break his 2019 record after beating God’s Bridge Primary School in Mbeya region which last year ranked first nationally. God’s Bridge School is not at all in the top 10 this year and Mbeya has not been able to add a single school to the list.

The school ranks 756 out of 11909 in its group of less than 50 students. In another development, Twiboki Primary School in Mara region which this year has managed to provide the top five students nationally, has been thrown out of the top 10 list which in the year results yesterday took third place
